Hello beautifuls, I hope you're all doing well. 2017 was a fantastic year for me blog wise. Biggest things first, during the summer we celebrated our 5 year blogiversary, & 1000th blog post. In the spring I got my nail polish mojo back, & then during the summer & fall I started return back to a nail blog. I also tried a TON new indies, some where new ones from brands I'm already familiar, & some where brand new to me. I also started working with a few brands to do swatches for them, which was extremely exciting & felt very rewarding, not only materially but also internally. Like my hard work was finally being noticed.
The first few years of my blog I had a lot of growth & opportunities, & then life happened, I slacked off some & I started to really notice it. So last year I started to get back in the habit of blogging often & sharing my posts. So you best believe 2018 will be full of growth, hard work & pretty swatches. I'm gonna be buying more polishes & stamping stuff. I'll be doing my best to be sharing it all with you. So let's start this year off with the top 10 polishes I tried in 2017. This post does contain some press samples, however that's not why they're included. If they're in this post it's because I genuinely LOVE them & want an extra bottle.

Top 10 Indies Polishes, I tried in 2017 |
I'm just gonna be posting these in alphabetical order as I do with everything.
Alter Ego Beachcomber. Which is a gorgeous shimmering turquoise shade, with a scattered holographic finish due to the small holographic particles within. It's just a colour that's appealing to the eye, it's fun colour.
Alter Ego - Beachcomber |
Colores de Carol The Scarecrow Walks at Midnight which is a vibrant burnt orange linear holographic finish, with gorgeous orange flakie articles within it. I love this polish, mainly for the fact that I don't have anything like it in my collection as well as it's unique factor.
Colores de Carol - The Scarecrow Walks at Midnight |
Cupcake Polish Bat-chelor Pad which is a gorgeous vampy linear navy blue. I just love how blue it still looks for such a dark shade.
Cupcake Polish - Bat-chelor Pad |
Dreamland Lacquer Too early For Christmas Music, is a gorgeous deep candy red, with holographic particles as well as flakies in it. It's just so jam packed with a ton of goodness yet isn't "too much". I love this because the name is perfect, as well as the "glow from with" look the flakies cause.
Dreamland Lacquer - Too Early for Christmas Music |
Girly Bits Lost in the PATH, *super sad face* This isn't even my polishes. Kelly & I went to Indie Expo last just & she got this exclusive. Ugh man she left me borrow it, & I was stupid enough to fall in love with it. It's just so gorgeous, it's a purple to hold duo, or it's a purple base with gold shimmer, with holographic micro flakie particles. It's just so hypnotizing.
Girly Bits - Lost in the PATH |
Pahlish Munchkinland, ohh man, this one right here reminds me of fall. I don't even know why, it's just the creme & orange. Ugh so gorgeous. I know this isn't available anymore, however I purchased mine through someones destash. So I wish you the best of luck if you chose to look for this.
Pahlish - Munchkinland |
Paint It Pretty Baby It's Cold Outside, this gorgeous polish I believe was originally meant to be used as a topper. However being the rebel I am I really wanted to try it on it's own. It's a iridescent polish that's made from micro flakie particles & shimmer. Since it's a topper, it's fairly sheer, so I do recommend using the sponge application if you're looking to use it on it's own. I also prefer it matte, however it still is beautiful when it's shiny.
Paint It Pretty - Baby It's Cold Outside |
Shleee Polish Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo! which contains a lot of sparkling blue small glitters, & then larger iridescent glitters that give it that glow look.
Shleee Polish - Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo! |
Superchic Lacquer Rumbillie which is like a golden medium brown, almost like a rich linear holographic golden rust colour. I absolutely love this colour.
Superchic - Rumbillie |
Turtle Tootsie Polish The Holly, Ughhhh this polish is absolutely stunning. It's a green to red, or red to green thermal, that has a lovely golden glow to it that's caused from golden mirco flakie particles. GORGEOUS.
Turtle Tootsie Polish - The Holly |
So that's my list, I absolutely am super excited to find out what 2018 brings to the nail polish world. I highly recommend checking out all of these polishes & brands, they're absolutely fantastic. What's some of your favourite polishes from 2017?
