Sally Hansen Salon Chrome | Rose Gold & Gunmetal

Hello gorgeous, today I'll be sharing my thoughts on one of the new Sally Hansen Salon Chrome kits, the first one I'll be doing is Rose Gold. So let's jump right into it.

This is what the Rose Gold kits look like, the others look similar however they're just different colours. The kit contains a jar of chrome powder, the special effect top coat, an applicator, Miracle Gel top coat & Frill Seeker Miracle Gel nail polish.

The chrome powder is a finely milled shimmer powder that has duo chrome aspects. It looks like a orange colour with pink flecks. The polish in the set Frill Seeker, looks fairly similar but it's like a pastel orange/beige shade. Very gorgeous on it's own.

So what you're supposed to so is apply two coats of Frill Seeker, wait a few minutes till it's tacky. Then with a light touch use the applicator to apply the chrome powder. Top coat with the Special Effect top coat, allow it to try & then apple a coat of the Miracle Gel top coat. This one felt a little flat. It's not very chrome, it's shiny but it's not like a full reflective chrome. This one was sadly underwhelming.

Next up is the Gunmetal kit, this kit contains the Miracle Gel Top Coat, Miracle Gel in the shade Blacky O, the applicator, the special effects powder & the Special Effects top coat.

The powder that comes in the Gunmetal kit isn't like the Rose Gold kit, the polish & powder don't look alike. The powder in this kit is more of snowy shiny white colour. The polish in this shade which is Blacky O, it's black creme polish. This polish isn't very opaque, it's takes about 3 coats for it to be completely opaque.

So again, you have to wait for the polish to get tacky, then using the applicator & a light hand rub the special powder onto the polish. The more effective method I have found to work is just using my finger, I can actually feel how light I'm rubbing the powder in. This actually gives you a gorgeous gun metal look, it's absolutely gorgeous. I highly recommend picking up this kit.

I absolutely love that there are companies coming out with kits that allows their DIY loving consumers the change to achieve some of the new nail trends at home. While some of these kits work, & some are meh, the best part is that they're trying. & While doing so, forever trying to make it easier for the average person to get their hands on the newest trends.

Thank you so much for reading,
