Essie | Retro Revival 2016

Press Samples

Essie recently (not so recently) launched an amazing collection where they brought back some essie elders.

Bikini with a Martini is a pink shimmery polish. The formula is pretty sheer but if you have some free edge, it looks a bit like a shimmery french manicure. In the picture below I'm wearing 2 good coats.

Birthday Suit is a super light pink jelly cream polish. It can be streaky, so I recommend applying thin coats. In the picture below I used 3 coats.

Life of the Party is a dark shimmery red polish that is very vampy. This polish is very opaque, you only need two coats, but you could get away with one good coat.

Starry Starry Night, first & foremost was sadly a bit of a let down to the nail polish community. Starry Starry Night(s) is a highly coveted nail polish, that does sell for the craziness of $150 (from personal experience).  & The reason this polish was such a let down is before it's not that same as the original. The glitter in this one is a bit large & the blue isn't a deep. However with all that being said if you weren't a HTF (hard to find) expert, or a nail junkie you wouldn't even know.

The opacity of this polish is incredible. You really do only need one coat but out of habit I still apply two. I would really recommend this even if you already have the first one.

I absolutely love the concept of this collection & thing every brand should do it.
