Harlequin Demon manicure inspired by The Nightmare Before Christmas

* Some press samples included

The second manicure inspired by the movie The Nightmare Before Christmas characters is based on the Harlequin Demon, that is so full of patterns & beautifulness it was so hard to decide what to use!

At first I was thinking of doing my two middle nails black so I would do the eyes but then I felt like It would be disproportional. The orange & green body is such a large part that I felt compelled to put it on three nails & then the orange & black tentacle horns(whatever ya call 'em) are one of my favourite parts, & I couldn't do just the eyes on one nail & the other black & orange. I don't know. Maybe I shall redo it, because I have a vision in my mind & I can't get it out. So I must create it! lol. Anyways...

Moyou Nails' VII plate
The stamping plate I used is the Moyou Nails' VII plate & both designs have been outlined in red. (=

The designs were created by making nail polish decals with Uber Chic's Uber Mat. So I really started by applying top coat to the nails on the mat which helps helps the design being stamped grip it better & peel off better.

Scaleish looking pattern: Using the black Mundo de Unas stamping polish & the scale design from the Moyou Nails plate I stamped the scale design. I used a liner brush & black polish & make them look a bit more hand done, That way it wasn't too perfect. After using a dotting tool & the green & orange OPI polishes I created rows of each colour. Which wasn't actually all that time consuming. Once it was dry I applied the decal over a white base in order to make the colours pop just a bit more.

Tentacle horns thingys: Using the solid stripe design & the black mundo de unas polish, I stamped the stripes onto the mat. Once it was dry enough, I applied the orange Yves Rocher over the stripes. After the decal was dry I applied another coat of the Yves Rocher polish to my nails as a base for the decal to cling to.
I really like this design however, I really wish I atleast tried my original idea, however i'll just save that idea for another day! There is plenty left until  halloween! <3
