Demeter Fragrance Library Haul!

Press Sample

Hey guys! I just wanted to quickly show you what the FedEx man brought for me yesterday! That wonderful man brought me 3 Demeter Fragrances! Which I am so excited about. So let me show you which scents he brought.

Scent: Blueberry
Site Description: An enticing and wearable mixture inspired by the deep fruit juice extract of the blueberry.
This is a truly an American scent. Held in very high esteem by the American Indian, the wild blueberry forms a five-point star that the "Great Spirit" sent to relieve hunger. Indians also used blueberries for medicinal purposes and made a strong aromatic blueberry tea from the root. Drying blueberries, then turning them into a pulp after which they were combined with cornmeal, honey, and water, made a blueberry pudding called “Sautauthig”. Nothing is more quintessentially American than the Blueberry. Not surprisingly North America is the world's largest blueberry producer accounting for nearly 90% of world production at any particular time.

Scent: Marshmallow
Site Description: Demeter has captured the essence of the Marshmallow in a scent so light it borders on transparent.

Marshmallow candy dates back to ancient Egypt where it was a honey-based candy flavored and thickened with the sap of the root of the Marsh-Mallow plant (althea officinalis). Marsh-Mallow grows in salt marshes and on banks near large bodies of water. It is common in the eastern United States. Until the mid 1800's, marshmallow candy was made using the sap of the Marsh-Mallow plant. Gelatin replaced the sap in the modern recipes, with the flavor and scent coming from vanilla and sugar.

Scent: Pizza
Site Description: Pizza is a departure even for Demeter, stretching the boundary of the concept of wearable fragrance. But we had to try – tomato sauce, creamy mozzarella, a touch of oregano – perfectly balanced for the adventurous.

The history of Pizza, both the word and the food, is a murky and uncertain one. What is clear is Pizza, in one form or another, by one name or another, has been around for thousands of years, and will probably be around for thousands more.  And now, Demeter has memorialized that fabulous scent, as well.

  1. Demeter fragrances are amazing, my favourite is their Grass scent, it smells like the Grass perfume that Gap sold in the 90s/early 2000s. :)
