Coveted Cosmetics Polish Strips Review Ziggy Design

Hey guys, I am in the process of doing a product review for Coveted Cosmetics, They sent me 3 different designs of their Nail Polish Strips for 3 different reviews. They are "Nail Polish Strips" & "Lasts up to 14 days." & this design is called Ziggy. So what I am going to do is let you know what the directions on the back are & I applied them exactly the way it says to. Then I will do an overall review & let you know my first impressions, & how my first application & Coveted Cosmetics manicure went.

So this is what the back says:

Nail Polish Polish Strips
* Salon quality nails in minutes  * Lasts up to 14 days
*No toxic fumes to inhale  * No drying necessary
* Made with real nail polish  * Remove with nail polish remover

1. Clean nails with nail cleaner or alcohol. File nail surface smooth for best results.

2. Remove nail strips from package and select correct size for your nail.

3. Remove the clear plastic film from the selected nail strip.

4. Carefully remove the nail strip from the plastic base.

5. Place nail strip on nail, start from the one end of the nail, adjust as needed to make even.

6. Nail strip can be stretched, ensure nail strip covers entire nail and smooth out the surface as needed. Pull down nail strip and file excess in a downward motion.

7. Continue until all nails are completed.

So now that you know what the back says, that is exactly how I applied them. The back does not say to push back cuticles, apply a base coat or even a top coat so I didn't.

So this is everything that comes in one set. 20 Polish strips, a nail file, cuticle stick & a random shiny piece of paper.

I am not sure why they include one of these if the back doesn't say to push back the cuticles, so I used it to smoothen out the polish strips.

So after I cleaned my nails, I removed nail strips from package and select correct size for my nail.

Next I removed the clear plastic film from the selected nail strip & Carefully remove the nail strip from the plastic base.

Then I placed nail strip on nail, start from the one end of the nail, & adjusted as needed to make even.

After that I ensured nail strip covers entire nail and smooth out the surface as needed. Pull down nail strip and file excess in a downward motion.

Left hand Day 3

As I have already mentioned I did not use a Base coat or Top coat. & they held up pretty well. I was really hard on my nails while wearing these. I scrubbed the tub did the dishes & lots of cleaning, laundry, changed diapers, pretty much what the average person does. & I would say they are pretty durable. I only wore them for 3 days because I normally change my manicure everyday that & I couldn't stand the tip wear by the third day. They would be excellent for someone who is always on the go, & busy with school or work.

*EDIT* [Since I have posted this review they addressed the shipping pricing & have changed it. Shipping for two Nail Polish Strip sets is about 2.50 now which makes it a lot more affordable. & now I can say I HIGHLY recommend them.]

I must admit, I am proud because my review made a difference.

They sell for 6.99 + shipping 4.60 + taxes 1.39 which brings you to a total of 12.98. Now normally I would say  "If you are gonna get some I would suggest buying more then one just to make the shipping worth it." However the shipping doubles if you add another one. Which I must say is ridiculous, considering they sent me 3 in a normal flat white envelope. I have mailed enough things nationally & internationally to know well enough that, that price for shipping is absurd. To mail all 3 would most likely cost no more than 5 dollars. I am a huge fan of these but not for that price, especially with how often I change my manicures.  I could buy 2 bottles of nail polish (which would last much longer than these) for the price of 1 set of these including shipping.

The quality is really good, especially considering I have super oily nail beds. However the price does not do it for me.

So what do you think of them? Have you heard of this brand before? Would you spend 12.98 for 1 pair? Let me know what you think. (=

  1. Don't like these, they didn't fit your nails, they never do, I prefer nail polish :)

  2. I think that polish strips are terrific for women new to nail art, or who want the spectacular effect without putting in spectacular amounts of effort.

    And that's cool.

I'm kinda a glutton for punishment. If there's a way for me to spend more time doing my nails, I'm all for it.

    The blog looks great!
