PrettynSpooky: essence review ! (=

Hey guys ! I have an awesome haul/review to share with you, essence sent me all 14 of their polishes & the clear top coat from their regular collection to review. I live in Canada & essence is sold exclusively at Shoppers Drug Mart. I also found out recently that they are enlarging the variety or products that essence will be selling at SDM. I must admit when I saw the size of the package they sent, I was pretty taken back by their generosity, & I would just like to thank them.

I am going to start off with the packaging, bottle size, brush, over all formula quality & price.

Packaging: I've been using essence products for about a year now, when I first started to buy the polishes I noticed that the caps looked close to what the polish looked like. If the polish was purple & had pink shimmers the cap would be purple with pink shimmers. & I love that they make them that way so you don't have to analyze the polish while it's in the bottle to know whats type of finish the polish has to it.

Bottle Size: The new bottles are now 0.27 oz. / 8ml compared to the old bottles which were 5ml, they recently made this changed about 3-4 months ago.

Brush: For the price & availability the brush quality is amazing! I love their brushes, they perfectly fit to my nails & I can always get a full nail coverage in two strokes. I took a picture of the clear top coats brush so you can see the brush & what it looks like.

Over all formula quality: Amazing, regardless of the price. Honestly a lot of the polishes applied like butter, went on so smooth & dried rather quickly. I think I only had 1 that was streaky & even then it was only the first coat then after the second it levelled out rather nicely.

Price: They're 1.99$, I believe which is amazing. With a price like that you can pick up as many of the colours as you like. When I first seen this brand at SDM, the inner polish junkie got very excited. Now all they gotta do is make more colours ! (=

Essence Top Coat (Brush Close Up)

Clear Top Coat: This top coat is very good if you're not picky when it comes to top coats. However I have tried a few other brands that dry super fast so sadly this one doesn't cut it for me. It'll be perfect for when I do some nail art for when I add hexagon glitters, rhinestones, etc & need a normal drying top coat to hold the deco on.

Date in the moonlight: This beautiful polish is a deep navy blue creme with vibrant royal blue shimmers running through it. This like many other polishes featured in this post, applied very easy, went on smooth & fully opaque in two coats.

2 coats of 139 walk on the wild side with top coat

Walk on the wild side: This is a deep forest green polish that has a such a gorgeous shimmer that is a vibrant medium green. Applied wonderfully & completely opaque in two coats.

2 coats of 122 chic reloaded with top coat

Chic Reloaded: Is a brilliant duo-chrome that has a silvery plum colour & when I say plum I mean it's a darkish purple red on the out side but on the inside its a lighter redish silvery purple. It's a pretty unique polish, applies with ease, fully opaque & definitely worth 1.99$

2 coats of 116 gorgeous bling bling with top coat

Gorgeous Bling Bling: This is a unique rustic orange looking colour with flecks of an orangish gold looking flakies. The flakies are super fine & super thing, but they are truly a perfect match for this polish. Such perfection for a fall polish. Fully opaque in two coats & applied nicely.

2 coats of 138 L.O.L with top coat

L.O.L: L.o.l is a really vibrant almost a neon creme polish. Perfect for summer & spring. Its such a nice colour. The formula is pretty good I think next time I'll use 3 coats cause as you can tell in the picture above it looks a tiny bit thin in some spots or uneven.

2 coats of 114 fame fatal with top coat

Fame Fatal: Is a beautiful Jelly Creme mix. It's a bit hard to explain but it is a fully opaque polish in two coats but still looks like it has a jelly texture to it. I really love this one.

2 coats of 127 i love bad boys with top coat

I love bad boys: This teal blue is has such a soft spot in my heart. I have a shirt & the colour just matches it perfectly. I love how easily it applies just like the others. I love the aqua blue shimmers that just SHINE so gorgeously in the teal base. Fully opaque in 2 coats.

2 coats of 133 oh my glitter! with top coat

Oh my glitter!: Oh my glitter! is such a gorgeous polish it is a bright lavender polish with a pinkish coral shimmer in it. The formula isn't as nice as the others it was a tad streaky but that could be fix with 1 more coat. I love this one.

2 coats of 128 let's get lost with top coat

Let's get lost: This is such a beautiful neon like creme. It's very easy to work with again like most others. It's the perfect blue polish, fully opaque in 2 coats.

2 coats of 132 break through with top coat

Break Through: Is a beautiful purple that is more on the red side. There's no shimmer in this one, great formula like most of the others. Fully opaque in two coats.

2 coats of 110 modern romance with top coat

Modern Romance: This is a salmony pink colour with beautiful pink shimmer, in the picture above I'm wearing it with 2 coats & it's completely opaque.

1 coat of 103 space queen over 2 coats of 110 modern romance with top coat

Space Queen: Is a beautiful glitter topper, it is iridescent glitters in a super light pink clear base. The iridescent glitters reflect colours of blue, green, orange & yellow.

3 coats of 108 ultimate pink with top coat

Ultimate Pink: This pink is a pretty hot pink that is so vibrant & bright. It was a bit on the streaky side & didn't level out as nicely as others but 3 coats did it wonders.

1 coat of 105 party princess over 2 coats of 108 ultimate pink with top coat

Party Princess: Is a beautiful glitter topper, it is iridescent glitters in a clear pink base. The iridescent glitters reflect colours of blue, green, orange & yellow. & Is much like Space Queen however with space queen you can use it over other colours with Party Princess I would suggest using it over pinks & reds.

Polka Dots.

On my thumb is "A walk on the wild side" & "Gorgeous Bling Bling" On my pointer is "Fame Fatal" & "Modern Romance" On my Middle Finger is "Ultimate Pink" & "Break Through" on the ring finger is "Let's Get Lost" & "L.O.L" & On my pinky is "I love Bad Boys" & " Date in the moonlight"
